EMILY

I'm late !! I'm late !!
The bunny said,
with Easter greetings
in his head,
to travel through
the post a while.
To wink at Emily....
and smile.
Although by now
this Easter's past,
and rabbits usually
are fast,
this bunny's been
a touch delayed.
Apologies.
At least it made
an appearance
at your door.
I hope you're well....
not feeling poor,
but rather very
happy....bright,
and life is really
full of light.
For Emily's
should often grin.
To not do so
would be a sin.
And John's should write
enchanting rhymes,
appearing randomly
at times,
to help to keep
those spirits high.
To grin, to smile.
Perhaps to sigh.
To know that in this World,
somewhere,
there is someone
who thinks to care,
and chooses just
to say "hello".
Around their neck
the pinkest bow.
A soft and furry
rabbit....white,
to visit you,
to stay. The sight
of this bunny
looking back
to meet your gaze;
this small knicknack,
will cause a chuckle
to arise.
At least I hope.
But now, with sighs,
it's time to end
this Easter rhyme
to Emily.
And with sublime
fond best wishes
I'll just say,
please do have
a lovely day.
